Pray and Plan

Pray and Plan

Have you ever felt extremely overwhelmed? Have you ever felt there was no way out of despair? I know I have. It is easy to become depressed when you feel overwhelmed and option less.

I have learned to surrender my life to my Higher Power. There have been many times, I have taken my will back and let me tell you, things went side ways. When I align my will with my Higher Power’s will, my life drastically improves. My Higher Power does for me what I sometimes cannot do for myself.

Where ever you are in your life, you can always pray and you can ask for help. “Daga niin” is a prayer I use often. It means help me in Ojibway. Asking for a sign can be helpful. Surrender yourself in prayer and trust that your life is in good hands.

My suggestion is pray for guidance and your Higher Power will lead you in the direction you’re meant to go. I leave offerings for my Spirit and Clan; laying tobacco down is something I do often in prayer. I like to ask my Higher Power to keep me safe from those who are deceptive and lead me in a good way.

When I feel extremely overwhelmed, I pray for direction. Then, the answers come. From there, I’m able to sort out a plan. I swear by having a plan. I could not have finished two degrees, written books, taught school and accomplished my goals without solid planning. If you’re confused and frustrated with things in your life, having a plan of action is a step in the right direction.

Change is constant, so keep in mind during those darkest days that the sun will eventually shine and things can and will improve. Keep working on improving your life; I send you love and prayers. xo
