Living in Alignment

Living in Alignment

There comes a time when a person has to decide how they want to be treated. I do not encourage looking for ways to be offended; however, in life when you’re being treated with disrespect it’s on us to say so. Recently there have been situations that did not reflect being treated with respect, so I had to make choices in how I was going to react and allow myself to be treated.

At this time, I only put my energy into activities and relationships I enjoy. There’s no lying about how I feel. Dishonest is dishonest. Pretending and tolerating behaviours I know that go against what feels right does not work. It takes courage and inner strength (nimashkowazii) to speak up and in some cases step away when we do not feel honoured.

I know I live in a world that has a spiritual deficit. It is not my intention to add to the mess instead, I do not lie to myself or others, I say how I feel, ask for what I need and distance myself from people and situations that are not in alignment with my values.

Not everyone is my friend, and I don’t have to be a people pleaser for approval. It’s black or white, I like something or I don’t. It’s simple and there’s no dishonesty involved. When I have a resentment I don’t sit in the anger forever, instead I discuss it with someone, pray and eventually move on.

Thankfully there are many great teachers in this world who we can learn from if we’re open and willing to change. Peace comes from within and we can’t give what we don’t have. If I don’t like something it’s on me to make a choice and live within alignment with my Source and core values. I wish you well and pray you have the inner strength to live with intention. We have one life to learn as much as we can and enjoy it with those we love while we’re here. ❤️
