Healthier Snacking

Healthier Snacking

I think after the holiday season, many of us, require a metabolic shift in diet. Refined sugar wrecks havoc on the body in particular the pancreas organ. Traditionally in nature, sugars were limited and eaten frugally. Nowadays any supermarket is overloaded with a plethora of sugary foods.

The key to healthy snacking is cutting refined sugars, adding fresh, natural foods and protein. It is best to eat every three hours. Eating very 3-4 hours allows the body to process foods and maintain blood sugar levels.I do not eat a lot of meat; however, I do match protein with carbohydrates as protein helps slow down sugar spikes and crashes.

The best way to take care of your overall health is to eat foods that are rich in nutrients and vitamins. Healthier snacks mean a smaller waist line, balanced blood sugar levels and a flourishing you. Choose well!
