Free Range Farming

Free Range Farming

What is free range farming? Free range farming ensures animals are being feed a natural diet and are raised with dignity & respect; meaning animals are able to walk around, eat and raise their young under humane farming conditions.

Unfortunately right now, the vast majority of meat being consumed in North America come from animals raised on feed lots and inhumane factory farms. Not only are animals suffering, they are also being fed diets that are not natural to their bodies, in order, to fatten them up to get them to market quicker and faster. Whatever the animals are being fed, you the consumer bio-accumulate within your body, so it is within your best choice to eat foods prepared with care and respect.

The food industry has only changed within the last 70 years, before fed lots and factory farms popped up almost all farms were free range. Ask the elders in your family where food they ate came from. My mother’s father and my own father’s family raised their own chickens, pigs and cows one generation ago.

It is extremely important to me to treat animals with compassion, and to support farms that treat the earth with care & concern. Check out some Farmers Markets and see what you can find there. You can also find free range meats and eggs in your local food markets; if stores do not carry the products you desire, ask to have foods ordered in.

Do what you can to make a difference, support and demand free range farming.
