Self Soothing

What do you do to make yourself feel better when you’re upset? Let’s face it, we all get upset from time to time; however, we all deal with our emotions in different ways. Learning to not be self destructive is a good thing, we do not punish anyone else by punishing ourselves. Turning to the bottle is not an option I take to. Instead of destroying my peace of mind, I self soothe by doing more activities that take me out of what is bothering me and re-focus my mind to being in the present moment. My Granny has always told me, “music will carry you through.” So, when I need to soothe myself, I often pick up a guitar and allow my energy to shift and change. There are many ways to calm a weary mind, all I suggest is doing more activities that bring you genuine joy and to work through your feelings until you feel better. All the best!
