Today, Gabbi Fontaine and I, were honoured in the Manitoba Legislature Assembly with a Member’s Statement by extraordinary NDP MLA for St John’s Nahnni Fontaine.
She honoured us Indigenous women on International Women’s Day. I can say I was overcome with humility and emotion today as Nahanni spoke so eloquently about Gabbi and I.
It was an honour to be able to wear our traditional skirts into the Manitoba Legislature to acknowledge the women who came before us and the young women who will carry on the good work we are all doing.
