Healing

Healing

This past week, I received some upsetting news that shook me to the core. However, I have a choice in how I act on my feelings. I’ve been praying, talking things through, being honest with myself and others and attending ceremony. Today, I pledged my tobacco to Sundance in a lodge in Northern Manitoba. Being around other people who make prayer and ceremony a way of life is healing in itself.

Life is a ceremony. We choose how we want to view it and live it. Who we have around us either strengthens or weakens our spirit. Being a Sundancer is one of the highest honors in this lifetime. Keeping healthy people near me is a necessity if I am to keep my spirit strong.Fortunately, I have some amazing friends and family who I have a lot of fun with.

Healing comes as you move through your grief and pain. Avoiding uncomfortable feelings does not equate peace within. The whole point of living balanced in mind, body and spirit is to live a life one deserves and to be present in it. Having dysfunction in our lives leads to distractions. Do away with unhealthy people and situations, process your feelings and grief, enjoy your present moments and remember prayer is an option: actually, the best option! Aho, Namaste!
