Focus

Focus

This sure is an unpredictable time, social distancing, gigs being cancelled and the constant fear of contacting covid-19. It’s definitely been different and weird to navigate how to maintain a sense of normalcy through these trying times.

Organizing Live with Me Brandi on Instagram and planning the May 1 release of my new single, “John Dillinger Type,”is keeping me focused. Thankfully, I have been keeping in close contact with my trainer and being active on a daily basis.

I can say, I miss going to meetings, my Grandparents and my friends. I’m most grateful to be attending a generalized anxiety therapy group weekly and having access to AA meetings online as well as speaking to my counsellor over Zoom.

My Granny gave me some sound advice saying, “Be sure to not take on too much right now as you are working on yourself and want to be mindful of not assuming responsibility for others.” Those are some words of wisdom. We are all at different places in our lives, no matter what the circumstances are I am committed to my wellness. Whether it’s therapy, working with a trainer, seeking advice from industry professionals; I am dedicated to improving my quality of life. Especially now since I have a better understanding of my mental health issues.

One day, I look forward to having a partner who is supportive of the work I do and someone to lean on. Right now, my Grandparents assume that role and I’m grateful to have two people who constantly want the best for me and pay attention to what is important in my life. I love they want to know when my next gigs are, what I’m working on and care about the content I create. Eventually, I will attract a man who does the same. Until then, my Grandparents are my main support system.

I send you all love and prayers at this time to keep you inspired, healthy and happy. Health is wealth and taking care of ourselves now is money in the bank for when we are older. Take good care of yourselves and know you are worth good mental, physical, spiritual and heart health. I pray what makes you happy is your main focus in your life.
