Evolution

Evolution

I have to say living sober isn’t easy, but there is no other way for me. Somedays, I get frustrated with the way things are in this world then I have to hone myself in and realize there is only so much I can do. Nonetheless, there are things I can and am doing.

It’s been a tough couple of years. However, I’m stronger than ever. The YouTube videos and blogs I create are aimed at an avatar of myself and what I needed to know a couple years ago. Clearly, sobriety and relationships are on the forefront of my messages.

I do say, I feel confident and powerful. Being in and out of toxic relationships, letting go of unhealthy friendships and workplaces certainly affected my self worth, but they also added to my spiritual growth. Through pain and adversity, we can evolve if we learn the lessons and change the way we behave.

I hope you all come into your power and feel your best. Sobriety is a game changer as is setting boundaries by staying out of toxic friendships, workplaces and relationships. My heart had to break for my soul to heal. I did not enter into another relationship; instead, I allowed myself the time to heal.

Right now, I’m eating better. It is not easy, it’s actually really difficult but it’s worth it. I have a goal in mind and want to shape up for my music video, Walk Away. Consistency is key to any change. I’m going at things one day at a time, it takes strength to say no and choose better choices; it’s doable though. Eating clean is comparable to dating by saying no to things that are toxic.

Are there ways you have evolved? I hope you celebrate the ways in which you have grown. It’s dangerous to get stuck in self-pity. For those of you stuck in bitterness, I send you prayers that you’re able to process the resentment and move beyond what is upsetting you. It has taken me time to get to a place where I no longer allow the past to constantly control me. Sure, I still get mad but I don’t hang onto it as long which certainly serves me better.

My suggestions are: love yourselves, pick a career you enjoy and a partner who is capable of loving you and live your best life. That’s what I am doing. I’m living my best life and making room for a man who is capable of handling a woman like me.
