Willingness

Willingness

How willing are you to make changes in your life? If you know something does not feel good or isn’t working, honestly what are you willing to do? Feelings are indicators of what is going on within you. When things are good, we feel satisfied; however, when things are uncomfortable we experience various feelings of angst.

It is important to attune into what you are feeling that way you are able to self-regulate. The more coping skills you acquire, the more feelings you can tolerate. If one does not have a variety of ways to change the way you feel without being self-destructive, how do you learn what you don’t yet know. Well, it starts with a willingness to do things different.

I am learning to sit through uncomfortable feelings and to not instantly react. I am learning to reach out for help and talk about what is upsetting me and I’m learning that I do not have to struggle alone. Things do not change over night and it takes time to put into practice what we learn. The point is, we can learn new ways to behave and we can change the way we feel if we are willing to look within ourselves and build on what we already know. The path to happiness is not meant to be walked alone; namaste!
