Gardening season is just around the corner. Those of you garden enthusiasts are gearing up for transplanting the seeds you’ve brought to germination and getting ready to plant this years harvest. Well just like the act of gardening, our minds are germinated and cultivated based on the thoughts we think.
Gardening takes soil, sunlight, microbes, water, patience and time. Growing a garden is something everyone can do with practice. Thinking positively can also be accomplished with practice and diligence. It is incredibly natural for me to drift into worry and fear. However, with a lot of practice and constant vigilance in asking for help from my higher power, my thoughts are seemingly less negative.
Just like a garden, we must weed out what does not serve us and nourish what we want to harvest. Awareness is key to change, so when you notice that you are drifting into fear and worry, ask for direction and the power to carry it through. You are never alone; prayer is a powerful tool that all people can use. I’m growing my first indoor herbs this spring; thus, don’t be afraid to try something new whether it’s gardening or retraining your mind. Happy spring!
