It is important to read the labels of the foods you purchase. I do agree with health experts that you should be able to pronounce the ingredients in the foods you eat. There are a plethora of chemical additives in the processed foods we consume. Before purchasing a product use your purchasing power to see where your food was made, check the sugar/fat/salt and carbohydrate contents and be sure to avoid deadly MSG (monosodium glutamate) and trans fats.
The food industry is a billion dollar industry that works in dollars and cents, consumer care and concern are not at the fore front of most company mandates. I personally support local businesses that believe in using organic and free range ingredients as much as possible. For now, start with reading the labels of the foods you bring into your home and do what you can to keep you and your family healthy.
