Protect Bees

Albert Einstein once said, “If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.” Well like Rachel Carson, Einstein knew that the symbiotic relationship between the bees and life on earth are interconnected. We, humans, eat plants and animals to survive; animals eat plants and other animals fed by the pollination of plants done by bees.

We are dependent upon bees for our survival. Yet, we such an intelligent species continue to spray chemicals that are rapidly killing bee colonies throughout the world. Ask any bee keeper if they have seen a drop in their bee colony numbers, you will time and time again hear the same answer: yes!

What can you do? Write letters to your member of Parliament, Department of Environment/Agriculture and show that you are a concerned citizen, plant bee friendly plants, allow dandelions to bloom, learn more about bee populations and stop using pesticides on your lawns/gardens. Together, we can make a difference and we must protect bee populations.
