What exactly does fair trade mean? Fair trade is way of doing business where communities and artisans are paid equitably. Unfortunately, the a large percentage of consumer products and foods we purchase are produced through slave and unfair labor. Coffee, sugar and chocolate are most commonly produced using slave labor.
When you see the fair trade symbol, you know that you are supporting fair community trade and development. Which means communities that are producing consumer goods are able to re-invest and grow their businesses on their own terms.
Remember you as a consumer hold the power to drive the global economy, put your dollars and cents to use showing that you care about the planet, ecosystems and your fellow person.
