When I think about love, I think about how one can choose to raise a dog. You can teach a dog through fear to listen, obey and to protect. Or you can choose to treat a dog with love; you better believe that dog would protect you through its last dying breath.
I like to apply those teachings to the way I work with children. I am a school teacher, and I have numerous interactions with children and adults throughout my work week. Being kind is easy and really does not take much effort. Many people do not have anyone who is loving and warm-hearted, so why not be a light in the life of others? People/animals remember how you made them feel; how will you be remembered? Love is respect, commitment and trust. I pray you learn to love yourself, so you are able to have truly unconditionally loving relationships in this lifetime.
