Life isn’t always a bowl of cherries; however, it isn’t always bad. Thankfully, we have a choice in the perspective we choose to take. Let’s face it, as North Americans, we have won the birth lottery jackpot. Right now, there are people dying and struggling in refugee camps throughout the world wishing for the rights and freedoms we take for granted.
Lately, I’ve had to accept that some of the people in my world are not living from their hearts: joyous and free. Does that mean I feel sorry for myself? Heck no! That means I seek people of the heart who are happy, humble and loving. Really life is all about perspective. When things are bad, are they really that bad? I say focus more on what you appreciate, rather than what you’re allowing to drive you nuts. In the wise words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” Lighten up and enjoy your own bowl of cherries!
