Attention

Attention

The most important thing you can give to your child is attention. From the time children are born they require love and caring affection. Babies learn to react to the adults in their lives based on the attachment style they receive. Children who are not held, cuddled and kissed as much as their peers with doting parents often times become avoidant of feelings and affection later on in life.

Children require the attention of their parents, in order to feel worthy and valuable. I suggest putting your cell phone and computer technologies down and spending quality time with the children in your life. If we want a generation that has empathy and compassion, we need to demonstrate tangible love and connection in the flesh, instead of online or through text message communication. A child’s self esteem is built upon the interactions within their family unit; make the time and show your child undivided love and attention.
